A little heritage, with plenty of practical charm. Featuring a lovely Tui and Trailing Leaves design, this cotton drawstring bag takes its inspiration from two handmade textiles in the collection at historic Kemp House – a work bag and a quilt dating from the early 1900s.

The original fabrics were manufactured and printed in England around 1900, specifically for the New Zealand market, where colourful botanical prints and native bird motifs were sold as ‘Novelty Dress Goods’. Their designs offer a fascinating glimpse into the fashions and tastes of the time, and a growing appreciation of our native birds.

Perfect for keeping craft supplies, knitting projects, sewing bits and pieces or everyday odds and ends neatly together. A useful little bag with a rather lovely story behind it.
